As the weather heats up, so does our progress

Another busy, yet productive week is in the books. I am so enjoying this work and moving forward each day as I learn and grow.

The business plan is quite a project as it is long, tedious, and very detail-oriented. I find it invigorating to research and plan how to be most successful. I completed our asset list and we have $45k in valuation for the furniture we acquired last week. It brings our total contribution amount to $207k. I was able to update our graph on the fundraising site and you can view it here: Contact 2 — Prosper in Peace Memory Care

This week, it was good to reconnect with a couple of people who have provided significant help previously on the project.

Karen is my Small Business Development Center mentor that I worked with prior. She was very helpful before so I was looking forward to connecting with her again. She was excited with our progress and helped me to identify some more resources we have that count toward my contribution for funding. She feels we are close to the point of approaching the lenders again now that we are moving along. We will meet again this week to review my progress on the business plan.

Chris Anthony is the artist who drew and painted the proposed plans for the property. He also took the gorgeous pictures we used for the website. It was so nice to touch base with he and his wife Tammy at the craft fair in Marana last weekend. He was thrilled to see how the web site turned out and even offered to give us one of his paintings to raise money through an auction ~ what a blessing he has been for us! I included a couple pics to remind you of his wonderful work and you can view his other creations at his website here: http://www.chrisastudios.net/

As I mentioned above, my week was spent mostly working on the business plan. There have been a few changes since I last created it so it is taking some time to make it perfect, which is required as this is basically my resume for funding. I am going to create one large plan that I can pull pieces from to develop smaller plans that will be specific to the recipient. This means a lot of work up front, but it will be a breeze to put each one together as I need after.

The best news this week is that we gained another $1100 in pledges! Our total is now $2830 for pledges. I am so grateful for the support and belief in this project. I am thankful there are others out there who care about our elders as much as I do. Another busy week ahead as I wrap up for my vacation next week ~ Kaylie's wedding in Maui :) I hope it is a good one for you as well.
