The Sum of the Parts

Another week has flown by already! They go so fast, especially when they are filled with progress toward building the best memory care in America.

You will note the picture on this week's blog post is the mylar drawing completed by the surveyor that I was able to pick up last week. Not the architectural drawings we were hoping for, but I'll take what I can get.

Thursday I have an appointment with Pinal county to deliver that document along with the new property descriptions. Those will complete the application process for the minor land division. Now we'll just be waiting on their stamp of approval.

I was so impressed with the mylar drawing that I had an extra copy made to display on the "Story of Prosper in Peace" wall, which will be located in the big house. This unique focal-point wall will include a timeline of the development of the property and opening of the business.

As mentioned above, I spoke with the architect and we are still a bit delayed due to the COVID in their office. The planner is now testing negative and had started working on this project so we are close. The product he has described that they will deliver sounds amazing so I believe it will be worth the wait.

"All good things arrive unto them that wait - and don't die in the meantime." ~ Mark Twain

After contacting the lenders for an update, one of them wants to meet this next week to visit. I sent my availability and I'm waiting for their reply to schedule an appointment. That meeting should occur before my next update.

I also touched base with my mentor Karen briefly, and she and I will get to meet in person this Wednesday! We have been meeting remotely for 2 years so it is a pleasure to meet face to face.

"The greatest gift I can give is to see, hear, understand, and touch another person." ~ Virginia Satir

A challenge came up obtaining the insurance estimate this week. Because it would be a new business opening, and in a remote location, the insurance company I was dealing with felt that it was too "high-risk" for them to quote.

This likely stems from the fact that many of the items on the 16-page application form had to be filled in as estimates. It just guides me to work with someone else who will be able to meet my unique needs.

I continue attending multiple classes each week gaining the business knowledge I lack. I am also joining the local Tucson 'Walk to End Alzheimer's" planning committee to make new friends with that group and help make a difference for those affected. My first meeting with their organizer is this week. You can check it out or start your own team here: 2022 Walk to End Alzheimer's - Tucson and Green Valley/Sahuarita, AZ | Walk to End Alzheimer's

That's a wrap for this update. Until next time, stay healthy and stay sharp!
