Seek and You Will Find

Each week I keep moving forward with my efforts to create the best memory care in southern Arizona, and this one was no different. One thing about being busy is time goes by quickly;  it seems like I was just writing this post for last week and here another is due already. I enjoy sharing the progress and am thankful I update weekly and not monthly!

Most exciting this week was locating a builder I can work with, and of course his name is Tom ~ it seems to be a pre-requisite to work on this project.  Tom's company comes highly recommended by two different sources in the construction world and they have served the Tucson area for many years.

I was able to meet with both of the Toms (architect and builder) and start our collaborative planning. They are excited to be involved in improving dementia care and feel honored to be on the project. Over the next month, we will be getting the information together for a cost estimate that I can use to chat with the lenders/investors.

Gordy and I finalized the information needed for the insurance quotes and his company is working on those. I am sure we will have a few more conversations back and forth to get all of the information needed. I had no idea how much goes into a business insurance quote.

Gordy also told me about another senior support networking group in the area and invited me to one of their luncheons tomorrow. I will gladly attend and look forward to making more connections that will help us be successful in this endeavor to create high-quality memory care.

As I move forward building these relationships, I realize I will soon need some legal involvement so I reached out to the attorney working with us and let her know I will be using her services soon. She is going on vacation so we will meet in 2 weeks after she returns for a status update and any advice she has to offer.

SCORE did not have many options that were applicable to me this week but I did get to attend one session on Google Analytics. I am in the process of setting it up to monitor my site and provide feedback on user behavior. That will be more important once I start to market the business and take reservations; now is the time to learn the process and get comfortable with the reports.

I realized my CPR and First Aid certification for healthcare workers was due for the 2-year renewal. I got to spend the weekend studying that manual for my in-person class and demonstration tomorrow night. I've been certified for over 30 years continuous so you would think I know it all by now, but they change something with every class so it is good to stay current.

Lastly, this evening I attended a public information session on the SunZia project. I was notified that this project will bring high-capacity power lines within a mile of the Prosper in Peace property. Upon reviewing the plans, it appears the lines will follow a parallel path to other high-capacity lines already in place so I don't anticipate too much effect on us. I certainly wish they'd drop a line my way though, lol.

Fun fact of the week: The name Tom, short for Thomas, originates in Aramaic and means "twin". I guess it makes sense that I have two of them.  Stay Sharp until next time!
