Time to 'Lose Myself' in this Journey

Now that the marketing package is complete, it is time to move into the fund-raising phase. Working as the Director of Nursing for a local, large skilled nursing facility did not allow me the time or energy to move the project forward as needed.

I made the decision to quit my job and start working for myself, putting all of my energy in Prosper in Peace. As Eminem says, "you only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow cuz opportunity comes once in a lifetime" ~ it's time to lose myself in this moment and go all in!

This transition has been interesting as I first needed to catch up on some personal tasks (i.e. annual medical, dental, and eye exams) and create a home office. That took the first week and a half or so but I am now set up with a comfortable, productive work area and I have verification that I am in good health.

I have also been educating myself through online business seminars offered by the SCORE program. I am so grateful for the mentoring I received initially through this program. My original mentor is not with the program anymore so I am signed up for a new mentor and will meet her this week.

A common theme through all of my education about financing was that my personal credit would be the biggest qualifier for SBA funding, or any lenders for that matter. I did my free annual credit check and validated I am in good shape there and everything appears as expected. Check off another box! :)

My creative side came out and I developed a new page for the website dedicated to fundraising. I was able to share it on all of our Social Media platforms as those are all active now as well. Prosper in Peace is now featured on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter. If you haven't connected with us on your favorite platform, please find, like and follow us! See the main Prosper in Peace page for the links.

Speaking of fund-raising, the Pledge Campaign is active and we have already received $1710 in pledges! There was a lot of activity on the site during the initial launch but it has died off a bit now. I am working on my marketing skills and will ask for some mentoring specific to those talents. I know I can message it more effectively so that is my next goal….work on getting more traffic to the site and more excitement for pledges.

The business cards were delivered this week so you get a peek at those for this blog post picture! I am working on a one-page document to share for general information.

Lastly, I have submitted the plan to SharkTank to see if they will approve us for the next season. I am open to investors, if their motivation is aligned to create a significant change in dementia care. I will also be approaching Sanjay Gupta from CNN, Oprah Winfrey, and Ellen DeGeneres.

I don't know exactly how we will obtain our funding; I just know we will. I am giving it my all to make that happen and I am so glad you are on this journey with me!
